About Dylan Windler

Dylan Windler is a skilled, savvy offensive player who steadily improved into one of the most productive, efficient wings in mid-major basketball.? A lightly regarded player coming out of Perry Meridian High School as a member of the high school class of 2015, Windler saw steady minutes as a true freshman, but averaged only 4.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in his first season under Rick Byrd.? He steadily grew into one of the best players in the Ohio Valley Conference averaging 21.6 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game on elite efficiency numbers as a senior to guide the Bruins to an NCAA Tournament appearance.

Chris Dortch feature:?Windler climbing up Draft boards with all-around game

  • Possesses solid size for a wing measured at 6’7.5 in shoes with a 196-pound frame and a 6’10 wingspan at the Draft Combine.? Not especially quick and has room to get stronger, but can play above the rim with room to gather and can be deceptive using the threat of his jump shot to his advantage.
  • Played a huge role for Belmont and was among the most comprehensively efficient players in the country.? As with most players Byrd coached, moved extremely well off the ball and made timely reads as a passer, but also showed deep range out past the NBA 3-point line both off the catch and off the dribble and has a knack for finishing with touch inside.

Defensive Analysis

  • Engaged defender with good instincts.? Covers a lot of ground playing with a nice energy, but lacks a degree of length to contest shots.? Likes to mix it up on the glass and would benefit from getting stronger.
